LESSON ONE: HAPPY HEART MAPS
As parents, we all love those "All About Me" activities, that our little ones bring home in elementary school, telling about their favorite color, food, and hobbies. It's fun to sit and think about the things that bring us joy! I used to video the kids sharing their "All About Me" answers at the start of each school year. It was fun to watch their little voices and demeanors change throughout the years.
As tweens, I wanted to focus on a "cool," fun way that appeals to them in sharing about themselves.
We focus on "heart work" through art and creative activities, not the fill-in-the-blank-sorta worksheets we're all used to.
We completed one activity per week. The Happy Heart Map shown below is actually a course I offer through OutSchool. If you're interested in signing your child(ren) up, follow this link for more CLICK HERE
In this one-hour live session, students create a fun heart map symbolic of all the things they love. It's a personal keepsake of who they are and what is important to them in this phase of their life.
