SPIRIT ANIMAL TOTEM POLES
For the next activity, we created spirit animal totem poles! The focus was on their character and personality! The kids recognizing their internal goodness and the features that makeup who they are brought big smiles. It was great to see them acknowledge their worth.
To begin, on day one, the students read through each of the SPIRIT ANIMALS on the website and took notes as to which ones they felt were relatable.
The next step was to create a poster using canva.com. They chose their top four animals that they identified with, designed them in the order of a totem pole, and then, wrote what defined them to the side.
This project really opened their eyes to their inward vs. outward beauty.
