With another school year coming to a close, the kids chose their TOP TEN books of 7th grade. These are the ones they enjoyed reading most and wanted to share with others.
Fever 1793 was one of my favorites this year, too. It focused on the Yellow fever pandemic and was interesting to compare and contrast to the Covid pandemic that the kids had experienced first hand.
Inside Out & Back Again and Love That Dog are both poetry novels that most read in elementary school, but I see no reason to be limited to a reading level. Some books are just enjoyable!
The American Girl Smart Girl Guides are excellent resources to open up discussion about life, in general. All of their choices are top notch. I always love hearing them tell me about what's happening in their novels during hot tub time.
Inside Out & Back Again
Robin Hood: The One Who Looked Good in Green
Beauty & the Beast: The One Who Didn't Run Away
Sleeping Beauty: The One Who Took a Really Long Nap
Every Soul a Star
The Candymakers
Are You There God? It's Me, Margaret
A Duet for Home
Knowing What to Say
One of my favorites that neither included was Call of the Wild. There is a great amount of sadness in it, but educational in how it shares the true primal instincts of animals, even our pets.
